Hurricane Harvey: Schools Closed In Fort Bend County
Fort Bend ISD, Stafford MSD are coordinating with officials to determine whether to close schools Friday and next week.

SUGAR LAND, TX — Administrators in several Fort Bend County school districts ordered the school districts closed as Hurricane Harvey threatens the Texas Gulf Coast.
Harvey, which was upgraded from tropical storm status to a category 1 hurricane Thursday morning, is expected to make landfall as a major category 3 storm sometime late Friday or early Saturday morning. Students in Fort Bend ISD, Stafford MSD, Lamar Consolidated ISD and Katy ISD returned to classes this week but they will spend the day at home and safe on Friday.

Lamar Consolidated ISD cancelled all activities beginning Friday at 2 p.m., and continuing through Sunday, and will evaluate through the weekend, according to the district webpage.
