Middle School Evacuated After Student Unleashes Pepper Spray
Quali Valley Middle School was evacuated Wednesday morning after a student sprayed pepper spray in one of the classrooms.

MISSOURI CITY, TX — The Quail Valley Middle School campus was evacuated Wednesday morning after a student set off a pepper spray device inside a classroom.
The incident happened at about 11:15 a.m. and caused several students and staff members to become ill.
School district officials in Fort Bend ISD released a statement that said the pepper spray traveled quickly through arts of the school.
Those who were affected by the pepper spray were evaluated by EMS who were sent to the campus.

"I want to assure you that we are taking all necessary steps to keep our students safe, and we are contacting the parents of those affected," Principal Jeff Post said in a statement Wednesday.
While EMS was treating students aned staff, the Missouri City Police Department and the Fort Bend ISD Police began their investigation into the incident.

"I am proud of the way our students handled the situation, which is similar to our regular safety drills," Post added.
Fort Bend ISD has not identified the student and has not said if the student who released the gas will face charges.
Classes resumed an hour after the incident.
The incident is under investigation.
