Narcotics Agents Find 778 Marijuana Plants In Massive Grow Operation

Task Force arrest six in Fort Bend and Harris County in felony narcotics charges.

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX — The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force arrested three men they say were involved with a significant marijuana grow operation at several locations in Fort Bend and Harris Counties.

Trong Vo, 35, of Houston was charged with Possession of Marijuana, a second degree felony; James Lai Nguyen, 27, of Houston with possession of marijuana, a second degree felony; and James Huy Nguyen, 37, of Houston with possession of marijuana, a second degree felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.

They are located in the 600 block of Fair Oaks Dr., in the Stafford area; the 15000 block of Val Vista Dr. in the Houston area of Fort Bend County; 7511 Marisol Dr., in the Houston area in Fort Bend County; and the 15000 Block of Sierra Valle Dr. in Harris County.

On Sept. 28, agents with the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force, Precinct 5 Harris County Constables and members of the Drug Enforcement Agency executed search warrants at all four addresses. They found sophisticated indoor marijuana operations in three of homes, along with weapons, large amounts of cash and cultivated marijuana product in the fourth location.

Agents confiscated a total of 778 marijuana plants, as well as indoor growing lights, scales, water pumps, fans, inverters and assorted equipment used for manufacturing, packaging and selling marijuana.

Along with Vo, Nguyen and Nguyen, agents also arrested three other suspects in Harris County on felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

The marijuana seized at the scenes had a total street value of approximately $2.3 million.
