National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Happens This Weekend
Fort Bend County deputies will host a drop-off station in the parking lot of the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy from 10-2 on Saturday.

RICHMOND, TX — The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office will take part in the DEA’s 2018 National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28.
The nationwide event helps to provide a place for anyone who want to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs.

In October 2017, more than 4,200 law enforcement agencies participated in this program nationwide, collecting 912,305 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs at 5,321 collection sites.
“These events are the best and safest way to get rid of old prescription drugs,” said Sheriff Troy E. Nehls. “This event, conducted nationwide, is an excellent way for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.”
The first Take-Back event was held in September, 2010.
