HOUSTON, TX -- Two separate instances involving symbols of hate related the Nazi’s have gone viral in recent days and have local authorities searching for answers.

“A swastika will always be a symbol representing hatred,” Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls told KPRC. “This kind of childish behavior will not be tolerated. What the person or persons responsible for this vandalism may not realize is that when we find them, they will be put in jail and could be charged a hefty fine on top of that. Can they say it is worth it then?”

Sheriff’s deputies were called again to the Sienna Plantation subdivision on Jan. 31 when someone painted swastikas on private property.

Meanwhile, a group of west Houston high school students are in a bit of trouble after officials said they rendered a Nazi hand salute during the senior panoramic photo.

The incident was reported by a student, who indicated that as many as 70 Cy-Ranch high school seniors rendered the Nazi salute during the class photo, and allegedly chanted Heil Hitler, Heil Trump as they rendered the salute.

The incident happened on Jan. 31 during the photo session when students were encouraged to be funny, although no one thought the salute was at all humorous.

Cy-Ranch Principal Robert Hull addressed the issue in a letter sent to parents this week.

“Several of our students made the poor choice of displaying inappropriate gestures during this time. Unfortunately, many of these images have been shared on social media. This is extremely disappointing as this is not an accurate representation of our student body,” Hull said in his letter to parents. "We are currently conducting an investigation and those implicated will be punished according to the Student Code of Conduct.”
