Politics 101: A Comprehensive Learning Environment For Potential Candidates

The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce created a program for those interested in running for office called Fort Bend Candidates Academy.

SUGAR LAND, TX - From the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce: Have you considered running for an elected position? Are you interested in understanding what makes a successful campaign? The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce has created an in-depth program for community members to receive pertinent information on running for political office. The Fort Bend Candidates Academy will provide a comprehensive learning environment where potential candidates for elected office, as well as those interested in the process, can learn the key components of a political campaign. The program will also provide the opportunity to learn and interact with former politicians and community leaders as well as prominent campaign executives. This academy will meet monthly over four sessions beginning in November and ending with a graduation luncheon in March. Free from political affiliations, the program will provide extensive resources for attendees across the board. We encourage all individuals to participate; ranging from no political experience to current elected officials. Facilitating the program will be Christopher Hill, managing partner of 180 Messaging.

The four sessions will be held at the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, 445 Commerce Green Blvd., Sugar Land, from 8:00 – 10:00AM. Breakfast is included. Registration is $149 for all four sessions. Young professional, ages 21-40, registration is $89 for all four sessions. We encourage current elected officials to attend complimentary. The session dates are November 28, December 12, January 9, and February 8. The graduation will be held on March 8. Details of sessions can be found at www.FortBendChamber.com or contact Juliette Nessmith at 281-566-2161 or Juliette@fortbendcc.org. Register today as there is limited seating.
