The suspects searched vehicles in about five locations in the cul-de-sac in just a few minutes and then they left.

"This is called car-hopping," said Sheriff Troy Nehls. "The suspects hit a street and search or look into vehicles all in a row."

In this incident, the crooks searched or looked into 10 vehicles in only 11 minutes, before leaving.

Some of the items stolen included a wallet with several credit cards inside.

"It is important for homeowners who park vehicles either in their driveways or in front of their homes to lock those doors," Nehls said. "In a lot of these cases, the crooks take the path of least resistance; in other words, they don’t bust windows to search the vehicles. So remember, it’s important to keep your vehicles locked up."

Anyone who has information on this crime is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Inc at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
