Richmond Beginning Road Construction Project

City leaders have asked motorists to avoid the area if possible and to exercise patience since these streets will have limited access.

RICHMOND, TX — The Asphalt Milling and Overlay project awarded to James Construction on Nov. 13 by the Richmond City Commission, will begin Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Residents will see this work beginning Tuesday with N.10th Street from the railroad tracks to Clay Street; from Clay Street. to N. 2nd Street, and to Collins Road; from Collins Road, and Clay Street to Waterbury Blvd at George Park, and finally Powell Street. from N. 10th Street to Collins Road.

A mill and overlay project involves the removal of the top surface of a street by the grinding of two inches of the asphalt surface with a milling machine, and replacing two inches with a new layer of asphalt.
