Richmond Man Killed When SUV Crashes In Old River Lake

Driver was ejected when SUV flipped and plunged into the muddy waters

RICHMOND, TX -- A 28-year old man was killed early Friday morning when he drove his SUV through a guardrail and plunged into Old River Lake, near the Brazos River.

According to investigators, the accident happened around 2:48 a.m in the area of U.S. 90 and FM 359 in Richmond.

When first responders pulled the SUV from the water, the driver was not inside, and authorities said he was ejected on impact.

The driver was found on the embankment and first responders administered CPR.

According to KTRK report, the driver of the SUV was taken to Oak Bend Hospital in Richmond with serious injuries, where he later died.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
