Thieves Burglarize Vehicles in Pecan Lakes Subdivision.

At least one handgun and ammunition is reported stolen from one locked vehicle;

RICHMOND, TX -- Residents in the Pecan Lakes subdivision in Fort Bend County are on edge, after experiencing several car break-ins late last week.

In one of those burglaries, a handgun, and ammunition were stolen from one pickup that was locked and parked in the victim’s driveway.

"My heart sunk, you know? I knew that something had happened and I looked in my console and my weapon was missing," Conley Shepherd told KPRC.

Video surveillance taken from a neighborhood security camera Thursday morning shows a man walking up to a vehicle in the Pecan Lakes neighborhood, checking for unlocked car doors.

Shepherd, who viewed the video, said he’d seen the men in the neighborhood before.
