Two Killed, Three Injured In New Year's Eve Crash in Rosenberg

Two women riding in the back of the pickup were ejected on impact and killed.

ROSENBERG, TX -- An accident between a car and a 18-wheeler on Interstate 69 claimed the lives of two women on Saturday morning.

The accident happened in the 2800 block of I-69 north, at the intersection of Cottonwood Drive around 3 a.m., according to police.

Investigators said they are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, but they do know that the impact between the Chevrolet Silverado pickup and the 18-wheeler, ejected Marissa Rodriguez, 26, from Beasley, Texas, and Nicolette Huebotter, 24, from Richmond, Texas, who were in the back of the pickup.

Huebotter and Rodriguez were taken to the hospital, where both women died, police said.

The driver of the Silverado was taken by EMS to the Oak Bend Medical Center, while a passenger in the pickup was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann in Houston.

Their conditions are not known.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was also taken to the Oak Bend Medical Center, but his condition is also unknown, according to police.

The accident is under investigation.
