U.S. Rep. Pete Olson Defeats Democratic Challenger Sri Kulkarni
Tight races were par for the course in this midterm election with many decided by a narrow margin.

HOUSTON, TX — It was a race that didn’t really become competitive until the waning days of the campaign, but the voters in Fort Bend County have spoken loud and clear about who they want to represent them in congressional district 22, reelecting Republican Pete Olson over Democrat Sri Kulkarni.
Olson won 51 percent of the ballots, garnering 132,431 votes to Kulkarni's 117,719.
Olson, who has held the seat for a decade, was on the verge of losing it to Kulkarni who made a strong push in the weeks leading up to early voting.

The blue wave continued with a Democratic majority winning most of the races, likely due to strait ticket voters.
