Early Voting Underway In Fort Bend County

Who's Running? Offices for US Senator, Governor, Congress, and county races galore. Click the links for sample ballots below.

SUGAR LAND, TX — Who’s on your ballot?

Early voting began in Fort Bend County on Tuesday, and continues until March 2, and rest assured there plenty of issues on the ballot including an election for county judge, state representative, congress, and a host of state amendments.

For Republicans, it’s County Judge Robert Hebert, who hasn’t drawn a Republican opponent, and will face off against Democrat K.P George in November.

U.S. Rep Pete Olson (R-TX) is challenged by former Missouri City councilman and businessman Danny Nguyen, U.S. Navy veteran James Green who espouses the America-first doctrine and is running on a platform of secure borders, clean healthcare reform, a constitutional revival; and Katy resident Eric Zmrhal who is running on the platform of restoring integrity to congress, reeling in government encroachment on personal freedoms, and generally getting the country back on track.

There could be runoff if none of the candidates win 50 percent or better of the ballots,but whoever wins will be challenged in November.

On the Democratic ticket, there’s a choice between five candidates including Steve Brown, who worked for the Clinton Administration; Pearland Dentist Dr. Letitia Plummer, who is passionate about climate change, immigration, and healthcare; Vietnam veteran Margarita Ruiz Johnson, who is running on a platform of strengthening healthcare for all citizens, education reform, and job creation; US Army veteran and former staff member for El Franco Lee Mark Gibson, and Sri Preston Kulkarni who formerly worked at the U.S. State Department.

Other key races in the county include offices for county court at law, and justice of the peace, country treasurer and district clerk.

Voters have until March 2 to cast their early ballots.

The Texas primary election is March 6.
