• Industrial wins 10th in a row; Stanush, Collins reach statistical milestones (victoriaadvocate.com) — Victoria West's Lady Warriors bounced back from a loss with a four-set home win and now host crosstown rival Victoria East on Friday at 5 p.m. The Lady Titans also grabbed a key district road victory, setting up a big local showdown, while several nearby teams like Industrial, Goliad, and Cuero extended impressive winning streaks.
   

• Victoria County sheriff seriously injured in crash (victoriaadvocate.com) — Victoria County Sheriff Justin Marr was seriously injured Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash at Zac Lentz Parkway and Houston Highway and was first treated in Victoria before being flown to San Antonio. DPS troopers say his truck collided with another pickup while turning, and both drivers were hospitalized as the investigation by state authorities continues.
   

• SNAP changes take effect Oct. 1 (crossroadstoday.com) — Victoria residents who receive SNAP benefits will see slightly higher maximum monthly amounts starting today, Oct. 1, as part of a nationwide cost-of-living adjustment. Local food bank leaders urge recipients to watch for state notices, respond quickly to renewal requests, and seek help if they have questions so their increased benefits aren't delayed or disrupted.
