• Funeral expense fundraiser for man engaged to be married who died in UTV crash (kfdm.com) — A 23-year-old Vidor resident, Dylan Lind, was killed Friday night when his UTV overturned in a ditch along FM 1131 in Jasper County, and his family is now raising money for funeral costs. Friends, neighbors, and anyone in Vidor who knew Dylan are being asked to help ease the financial burden as his loved ones plan services to honor his life.
• Alvin 'Hooty' Boyd Nelson (kogt.com) — Vidor is mourning the loss of 70-year-old Alvin "Hooty" Boyd Nelson, who passed away Friday at his home after many years as a hardworking truck driver and mechanic. A longtime Vidor resident, he leaves behind children in Vidor and Beaumont, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on his memory.
