American Red Cross to 'Sound the Alarm' in Waco on Saturday (fox44news.com) — Waco households can get free smoke alarms and fire safety education this Saturday, October 3, at Park Lake Drive Baptist Church during the American Red Cross "Sound the Alarm" event. Hello Bello facility in Waco to close, laying off nearly 70 employees (kwtx.com) — Workers at Hello Bello's Waco manufacturing facility are facing permanent layoffs, with 67 positions scheduled to end on November 27 following the company's WARN notice to Texas officials. The diaper and baby product plant, opened in 2021 with big local job promises, has struggled through bankruptcy and restructuring, though affected employees can seek help through Workforce Solutions Heart of Texas.
