Northwestern Mutual-Addison & Waco Brings ‘Impact Days’ Energy to Special Olympics Texas Summer Games

On Friday, May 1, Northwestern Mutual–Addison & Waco financial advisors, staff members, and leaders were a part of over 125 volunteers from NM-Dallas/Ft. Worth as the primary support team for the Special Olympics Texas Summer Games track & field competitions at Melissa High School and Coach Denny Deel Stadium.

Throughout the morning, NM-Addison & Waco volunteers escorted athletes to events, timed races, measured throws and jumps, awarded medals, and filled the stands with encouragement, helping ensure a smooth and memorable experience for hundreds of athletes from across the state. Their presence provided critical operational support while reinforcing the celebratory spirit that defines the Special Olympics movement.

The Games continued a pattern of large-scale service for NM-DFW. The firm has made philanthropy a cornerstone of its community engagement strategy through its firm-wide ‘Impact Days,’ dedicating hundreds of volunteer hours, deploying organizational and leadership skills, and supporting nonprofit partners at scale—most recently including Minnie’s Food Pantry in Plano and Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer in Dallas.

‘Impact Days’ will continue in October as NM-Addison & Waco will join NM-DFW for another scheduled volunteer effort at Samaritan Inn in McKinney.
