☃️ Outdoor Play & Sledding Spots

Snow is rare in Central Texas, but when a winter freeze or light snowfall hits, parks and grassy hills around Waco become temporary spots for sledding and cold-weather play. It’s a good idea to check city updates before heading out to make sure conditions are safe.

Waco spots to consider:

  • Cameron Park has rolling terrain and open grassy areas that locals use for sledding and winter fun when snow or ice covers the ground. Its large size and varied hills make it one of the best places in town to take advantage of rare snowy days. (Source: City of Waco)

Further outdoors:

  • Mother Neff State Park — This scenic park along the Leon River has natural slopes and open areas that can work for winter exploring during rare snowy conditions, and it is about a 45 minute drive from Waco.

Bundle up, stay safe and have fun wherever winter takes you!
