Former Wichita Falls Councilor Steve Jackson dies (texomashomepage.com) — Wichita Falls is mourning former District 5 City Councilor Steve Jackson, a native son who served on the council from 2018 to 2023. He also spent more than three decades supporting military flight training at Sheppard Air Force Base, leaving a long legacy of public and military service in the community.

Rising fuel costs put added strain on volunteer fire departments (newschannel6now.com) — Rising fuel prices are squeezing volunteer fire departments in and around Wichita Falls, where diesel-hungry fire trucks and small engines now cost hundreds of dollars to run during major calls. Local chiefs say the higher fuel bills ripple into equipment, gear, and even volunteers' own wallets, and they're urging residents to help through donations and by signing up to serve.
   

3. 2INgage honors families during National Kinship Care Month (texomashomepage.com) — A Wichita Falls-based child welfare group, 2INgage, is spotlighting kinship caregivers this September for providing stable homes to foster children across Texoma. Leaders share how relatives and trusted adults, like "Katherine" in a recent case, can transform a child's life by offering consistency, connection, and ultimately permanent family through adoption.
   

4. Lady Buffs Make a Tuesday Road Trip to Wichita Falls (gobuffsgo.com) — Volleyball fans in Wichita Falls can catch Midwestern State hosting the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs tonight at 6 p.m. in D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The Lone Star Conference matchup features a Mustangs squad trying to snap a two-match skid against a historically dominant WT program.
