Career and Technical Education programs grow to meet needs in Conroe ISD (communityimpact.com) — Conroe ISD is expanding career and technical education options at The Woodlands, College Park, Grand Oaks and Oak Ridge high schools, backed by major bond-funded upgrades. From new labs and a three-story CTE wing at The Woodlands High School to partnerships with Lone Star College, local students are getting more hands-on pathways into high-demand careers without leaving the area.
   

2. The Woodlands approves proposed $50M deal to permanently block Houston annexation (fox26houston.com) — The Woodlands Township board has unanimously backed a $50 million agreement that would permanently prevent Houston from annexing the community and end the regional sales-tax project fund. If Houston City Council approves it next week, Houston gets immediate funding while The Woodlands keeps millions in future sales tax revenue and maintains control over its long‑term governance options.
   

3. SMART Teen Educational Series: Learn, Connect and Be Prepared for Today's Challenges at Kevin Brady Library (hellowoodlands.com) — Teens and parents in The Woodlands can join a free four-part SMART Teen Series at Kevin Brady Library, starting September 2, to tackle issues from substance awareness to healthy relationships. Hosted by The Woodlands Township with expert speakers, the monthly sessions offer practical tools, open discussion, and resources to help families navigate safety, mental health, and online risks.
   

4. 3rd annual Young Makers Market held this Saturday in Market Street (hellowoodlands.com) — Young artists from The Woodlands and Montgomery County will take over Market Street this Saturday, August 29, showcasing and selling their original work at the third annual Young Makers Market. Families can browse creations from students in grades 3–12, support budding entrepreneurs, and preview more art through The Woodlands Arts Council's website.
   

5. Record-Breaking Walk Boosts Interfaith and Gives The Woodlands' Community Champions Their Much Deserved Runway Moment (papercitymag.com) — Interfaith of The Woodlands' recent Black & White Ball at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott raised nearly $800,000, making it the most successful Walk gala yet. More than 700 guests enjoyed a high-energy runway show while supporting crisis assistance, senior services, school supplies, and other vital programs serving families across The Woodlands and South Montgomery County.
