THE WOODLANDS, TX — U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady is sharing his tax reform vision with constituents, and on the national stage with several planned town hall meetings in August.
Brady, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, will be hosting several town hall meetings in Crockett and Huntsville this week to talk about tax reform, and share his vision with constituents, and plans a video town hall meeting for Aug. 24.

“Overwhelmingly you are telling me that this tax code is designed more for special interests, than for families and local businesses. It needs to go and there’s no better time than now,” Brady said in a statement Monday. (Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Tax reform was high on the list as the Trump Administration began its transition to the White House in December.

Brady met with Vice President Mike Pence and the Trump transition team to discuss the economic policies, and tax reform, and introduced a modified tax form that could be used by taxpayers in the future.
Brady plans to share that tax reform message on a Facebook live video from President Ronald Reagan’s Western White House on Wednesday, 31 years after Reagan signed the last tax reform bill.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Brady said the Trump administration is committed to implementing an effective tax reform before the end of 2017.
“...we are unified on a core set of principles and we are moving forward with tax reform for delivery this year, and the president is committed to that approach,” Brady said. “We want a tax code built for the growth of jobs and paychecks, and the economy…”
Brady said the changes are not merely tax cuts, but is a redesign of the tax code.
"The American people, certainly in Texas, they're sick of what we have right now," he said during a conversation in his Conroe office. "They're starving for a fairer, simpler tax code.”
