Chamber Honors Tomball ISD Teachers

TOMBALL, TX -- The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce honored two Tomball ISD teachers with special awards in December.

Tomball Elementary School teacher Matt Anderson was recognized as the Teacher of the Month on Dec. 4.

Tomball Elementary School Principal Pam Chatham introduced Anderson during the chamber’s monthly luncheon.

Anderson teaches math and science, and has worked in education for over nine years. His goal is to break through his students’ preconceived notions about math and science by encouraging them to explore both subject areas through real life experiences.

On Dec. 9, Tomball High School teacher Billie Ann Dio was honored by the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce as the 2016 Citizen of the Year.

Previous Citizen of the Year award recipients Lori Klein Quinn, Kit Pfeiffer, Sandy Krug, Bruce Hillegeist, and Stephen Hohl surprised Dio with the award.

This is Dio’s twelfth year at Tomball High School. She serves as a teacher and Student Council Advisor. She is known for being devoted her students and dedicated to the Tomball community.
