Deputies Arrest Four Robbery Suspects After Hold-Up In Spring

NEW CANEY, TX -- Four men are behind bars after police say they robbed a store at gunpoint in Spring just before midnight on Thursday.

Darrius Jacobs, 26, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, while Justin L. Wright, 27, Kerry Johnson, 26, and Ladarious Thomas, 23, are all charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Police said the robbery was called in just before midnight from the Walgreens store at the intersection of Aldine Westfield and Wood River roads in Spring.

Witnesses told investigators that the armed men came in and forced the employees into a back office and locked them inside.

The robbers got away with cash that actually included a tacking device.

Employees locked in the back office called police after the men lect.

Meanwhile, a passerby saw the incident, watched them get into the car, and followed them as he called 911.

"Our dispatch was able to actually track every step these guys were making as they fled the location," Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman told KPRC.

Montgomery County deputies stopped the car in the 20500 block of FM 1488 in New Caney and arrested the four men inside.

Inside the car deputies found cash stolen from the drugstore and a pistol, investigators said.

Herman said the behavior of the men indicates that they have committed armed robberies in the past at other locations.

“We do feel they're going to be (implicated in) for other robberies, so investigators will be connecting dots to other robberies in this area from last night and the last week or so," Herman said.

Johnson is being held without bond, while Thomas and Wright are being held on $30,000 bonds and Jacobs is being held on a $20,000 bond.
