Get Your ‘Pinch-On’ At Tomball's 6th Annual Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival
It's time to get your crawfish fix this weekend at the Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival in Tomball

TOMBALL, TX — There’ll be tasty crawfish, foot-tapping tunes and family fun at Tomball’s downtown Depot Plaza on Saturday, May 6th and 7th as the city hosts the sixth annual Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival. This award winning event is a full weekend celebrating the tasty crawfish through food, music, competitive eating, live crawfish racing and more.
TV’s “Daytripper”, Chet Garner will be on hand Saturday, May 6th to meet and greet his fans, pose for photos and join in the fun beginning at noon.
Performing on Saturday are Troy Hess & the Texas Heartbreakers, the Bottle Rockers and Louisiana’s Rockin’ Fiddler – Waylon Thibodeaux. Sunday’s line-up includes Silverado, the Powell Brothers, and Beatles and 60s cover band, The Fab 5.
There will be loads of crawfish, boudin, etouffee’ and all sorts of festival foods, too. Shop the vendors and then turn the kids loose in the kids zone.
Who will win the crown at the “Bayou Belly Buster Boudin Ball Eating Contest” on Saturday at 3:30 PM? There will be a trophy and medals for the winners of The “Roux Run at Depot Downs” live crawfish race at 3:30 on Sunday. Register for both events at the festival information tent.
There will be free commemorative “diner-flyers” throughout the weekend, too, so come early.
The Depot Plaza is at 201 South Elm Street at Market Street along the railroad tracks.
Admission and parking are free, and be sure to browse the Tomball Farmers Market on Saturday morning before Rails & Tails begins. More than 50 vendors at what has been named Houston’s Best Farmers by Edible Houston Magazine.
