Heavy Storms Delay Waterpark Grand Opening

The grand opening of the Grand Texas Big Rivers waterpark is being delayed due to the intense weather.

NEW CANEY, TX — The Grand Texas Big Rivers Waterpark is will open later than expected, according to Grand Texas. Citing inclement weather, the waterpark is opening in late July, Kingwood.com reports.

"Due to recent inclement weather patterns and projections from the National Weather Service, it is with regret that we have decided to reschedule the Grand Opening date for Big Rivers Waterpark and Gator Bayou Adventure Park into July," the Grand Texas Facebook post read.

This doesn't mean your annual passes are being wasted, however. Officials were sure to inform pass holders that it is a 365-day pass, not a season pass. So, the pass will expire one year after the park's open date, not at the end of the season.
