Homeowner Shoots Conroe Woman Who Broke Into Her Home

CONROE, TX — A Conroe woman was shot and killed Saturday night after she broke into a neighbors home in River Plantation, according to reports.

Deputy constable’s in Montgomery County were called to a home in the 600 block of North Carolina Park in the River Plantation subdivision, shortly after 9 p.m. for a burglary in progress.

Deputies arrived at the home where they found the homeowner giving CPR to a woman with a gunshot wound, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.

The woman, identified as Marci Green, 38, was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center, where she later died.

The homeowner told police that she was home alone, when she heard someone trying to come into her home through the front door, and she grabbed her gun to protect herself, the Conroe Courier reported.

The homeowner told investigators that Green went around to the back of the home and came in through a backdoor, and was allegedly warned by the homeowner that she was armed and not to come into the home.

When Green ignored her and came in the home, the woman fired once, hitting Green in the abdomen.

The woman’s husband arrived after the shooting and began CPR on Green, investigators said.

Charges were not filed against the homeowner.

Green has a criminal record dating back to 2010 that includes arrests for possession of a controlled substance, burglary, theft, and criminal mischief, according to a Montgomery County Police Reporter report.

Police are looking at the relationship between the homeowner and Green, who lived on the same street.
