Offices for The Woodlands Township were also closed as a result of the weather but this didn’t impact essential services such as police, fire and EMS.

In Conroe, city offices were also closed and trash pickup was cancelled and should resume on Wednesday.

Those who hoped to take in a little shopping at The Woodlands Mall to ;pass the time on one of the frostiest days of 2018, only had just a little while after Woodlands Township Chairman Gordy Bunch announced on Twitter than the mall would be closing at 3 p.m. and reopen on Wednesday at noon.

Some took advantage of the time off Tweeting and posting pictures at #Icepocalypse2018, #AyDiosFrio18, or simply #IceDay.
