Impact of Straight Ticket Voters Significant in Most, But Not All Races
Trump victory in Texas was accentuated by Trump landslide win in Montgomery County, Spring ISD Bond also passed.

THE WOOLDLANDS TX -- Voting totals in neighboring Harris County paint a stark contrast to the desires of registered voters in Texas, Montgomery County voters were among those who helped assure a President-elect
Donald Trump victory in Texas in Tuesday's general election.
According to the final voting tally from the Montgomery County Clerk's Office, Trump garnered 73 percent of the ballots cast, to Hillary Clinton's 22 percent.
Those vote totals also indicated that 79 percent of those who voted for Trump, also voted a straight Republican ticket, compared with 19 percent who voted a straight Democratic ticket.

The straight ticket Republicans trickled down to local races such as Rand Henderson who ran unopposed for Montgomery County Sheriff, and will replace Gage in January; as well as Montgomery County Pct. 1
Commissioner Mike Meador and Pct. 3 Commissioner James Noack who also ran unopposed.
Ticket voters, however didn't impact the smaller races, such as the Woodlands Township Board of Directors.

Voters in the Woodlands Township who were spurred to the polls for fear of higher taxes that would come as a result of an earlier than expected incorporation, answered by electing a slate of candidates
endorsed by a local Tea Party group.
They also didn't impact the Spring ISD bond election.
The $330 million bond referendum was approved by voters.
Out of 40,487 votes cast, 29,040, or 72 percent were in favor of the bond.
“I’m very pleased with the 72 percent rate of
approval. It clearly demonstrates the support and commitment of this community
to our schools and our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Rodney Watson.
