Kevin Brady Meeting With Ways and Means Committee on Legislative Agenda
Ways and Means is laying the groundwork in preparation for Trump Administration.

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands) is getting an unprecedented amount of cooperation from fellow Republicans as the nation prepares for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, Brady, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, called committee members back from their Christmas break to Capitol Hill this week, to hammer out the legislative agenda for 2017.
"The Ways and Means Republicans that I lead will be responsible for delivering President-elect Donald Trump’s top two priorities – growing our economy by fixing our broken tax code and tackling Obamacare,"
Brady said in a statement. "Although Congress is out of session,Ways and Means Republicans are back in Washington working on the legislative agenda for 2017. This ensures we are ready to work with President-elect Trump to get America back on track. As Chairman, I’m readying to deliver the best solutions for America."

Brady, who has strongly opposed the Affordable Care Act -- known as Obamacare -- since its passage in 2010, shared the perceived failures of the healthcare law that have appeared in numerous media outlets in 2016.
"Since Obamacare was signed into law in March 2010, our nation’s Washington-knows-best health care system has continued to hurt more Americans than it has helped. From dwindling choices to skyrocketing costs, for over six years we have seen one Obamacare failure after the next," Brady wrote.

Eliminating Obamacare was one of many campaign promises Trump made during his presidential campaign.
Since his election, however, Trump has said he likes portions of Obamacare and will consider keeping some of it in place after he takes office.
