Lone Star College Fees Increasing This Fall
Trustees vote for a fee increase for out of state, international students for Fall 2018

THE WOODLANDS, TX — The Lone Star College Board of Trustees approved a measure on March 1 that will increase tuition for some students later this year.
The tuition increase, which take effect this fall, will generate more than $3 million in revenue and will impact students living outside of the Lone Star College District, and international and out of state students.
Out of district students living out of the district will increase fro $85 per credit hour, to $95 per credit hour, while out of state and international students will see an increase from $100 to $130 per credit hour.

Jennifer Mott, Lone Star College’s Chief Financial Officer, said the increases will offset the cost of students living in the Lone Star College District, who subsidie the remaining students.
The board voted 8-1 on the measure with Trustee Kyle Scott voting against.

Trustees also voted to increase the differential fee by $2 to offset the cost incurred for each subject area not covered by tuition. Officials said this change will add an estimated $1.9 million in revenue.
Lone Star College has five permanent campuses, eight satellite campuses and six program specific locations in the Houston area.
