Man Convicted Of Voter Fraud In The Woodlands To Begin Prison Sentence

Adrian Heath was taken into custody by Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies and will begin his prison term this spring.

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- A man convicted of voting illegally in 2014, was arrested at his home in The Woodlands on Tuesday and taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

Adrian Heath and three others were convicted for illegally voting in the May 2010 election for The Woodlands Road Utility District, after Heath and several others changed their voting address to a Residence Inn Hotel in The Woodlands, and checked into the hotel and ousted board incumbents in a 10-2 vote.

The three incumbents who were ousted filed a lawsuit alleging voter fraud.

A visiting judge who presided over the case ruled that the 10 who changed their addresses didn’t live within the boundaries of the Woodlands Road Utility District, and had committed voter fraud.

The ruling ultimately led to the indictment of seven, including Heath.

In 2014, Heath, Sybil Doyle and her daughter Roberta Cook were convicted, with Doyle and Cook sentenced to five years' probation.

Heath was sentenced to three years in prison for his role and has since been involved in numerous appeals.

In December 2016, the Court of Criminal Appeals chose not to hear his appeal, and a warrant for his arrest was signed.

Heath is expected to be transferred to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice within the next 45 days.
