No Primary Opponent: It's David vs. Brady In November
Kevin Brady didn't draw a Republican challenger in the primary but will draw a progressive challenge from Tomball's Steven David in November

THE WOODLANDS, TX — Some Republican incumbents haven’t drawn a challenger going into the March 6 primary, and that seems to hold true for U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady.
Early voting begins on Tuesday, and it will be a quiet primary season on District 8.
Brady, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, and help successfully navigate the bill implementing tax reform earlier this year, won’t see a challenge to his seat until the November general election.

In that contest Brady’s Democratic challenger is Steven David, of Tomball, who works for the city of Houston.
According to his webpage, David’s is running on healthcare reform in the wake of the Obamacare repeal, economic growth, affordable public education, reducing student debt resulting from college loans, and reducing government waste.

I thought I was running against @RepKevinBrady because I wanted to fight for healthcare, the middle-class, affordable education, and respect for vocations. I realize now that I’m running to fight complacency, corruption, and blatant lies. #TX08 #2018Midterms https://t.co/kOkvFX3oFc

Like Brady, David didn't draw a Democratic challenger for the March 6 primary election, which means both will cruise to an easy win next month.
But the rhetoric has already begun with David taking a couple of shots at Brady's record on tax reform.
While @RepKevinBrady is busy passing a tax bill that hurts the middle-class, working to cut #Medicare and #Medicaid, and increasing federal spending AND the federal deficit, he is neglecting his Constitutionally-defined role of being a check and balance on the federal government https://t.co/DeBu4ueiWe

Despite the claim that tax reform legislation hurt average Americans, many at Friday's Economic Outlook Forum in The Woodlands didn't seem displeased by the legislative changes.
Spent my morning talking #TaxReform benefits for Texans at the #EOC2018 @MHWoodlands. And what an honor to be in a room full of our communities best and brightest leaders. Thanks for having me! pic.twitter.com/fzdKdLhm47

By the same token, companies throughout the US have boosted pay to their employees or paid bonuses as a result of the tax reform bill.
After #TaxReform CVS has announced it will raise wages & implement a new #PaidFamilyLeave policy: “CVS will boost starting pay for hourly employees… Full-time employees will qualify for as much as four weeks of paid parental leave.” https://t.co/9W2396I4H3
