Spring Area Man Jailed On Animal Cruelty Charge.

Cody Tombros will spend the next year in jail after he threw his then 6-month old puppy from a second story window: Police

SPRING, TX — A Montgomery County man will spend the next year in the Montgomery County Jail after pleading guilty to a charge of animal cruelty.

Cody Tyler Tombros, 25, of Spring, pled guilty to animal cruelty and surrendered his rights to the puppy.(Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)

Tombros was arrested in February and charged with animal cruelty after witnesses said he threw his six-month old Pitbull puppy from a second story window at the Dakota Canyon Apartments, and then stomped on the injured animal with both feet.

The puppy was taken to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter where veterinary doctors discovered the puppy had some permanent bone damage, according to a KTRK report.

However, the prognosis was good, and the puppy has since recovered and was adopted to his new home on Monday, officials said.
