Spring Man Shoots, Kills Intruder Who Burst Through His Front Door

SPRING, TX -- A homeowner in Spring shot and killed a man Tuesday afternoon that he believed was breaking into his home.

Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constable's responded to a report of a shooting in the 2400 block of Blue Shadow Drive shortly after 4 p.m.

According to a KRIV report, a witness said the alleged intruder was known around the neighborhood and was often seen riding his bicycle in the area.

A witness reported seeing the victim get off his bicycle, run up to the home and burst through the front door and hearing several gunshots afterward.

According to a Houston Chronicle report, the homeowner said he grabbed his gun and fired at the man who’d entered his home.

The intruder was declared dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

Police said the two men knew each other and are investigating a motive for the alleged break in.

Charges were not filed against the homeowner.
