Third Woman Attacked At Woodlands Apartment Complex

THE WOODLANDS, TX — Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said today that DNA evidence from a sexual assault in 2013 is linked two committed in 2016 at the Trailpoints Apartments, and another attempted sexal assault at the same complex Wednesday morning. .

According to investigators, a 32-year old woman was awakened by a man standing at the foot of her bed trying to remove her pants, KPRC reported.

The woman told investigators she screamed, and that the man ran from her apartment KTRK reported.

This is the third attack since the attacks began with the first in September 2016, followed by a second nearly a month later, which could be linked to several others.

According to a KTRK report, DNA evidence from a 2013 sexual assault, matches the DNA from the 2016 sexual assaults.

In both those cases, the victims described an Hispanic man in his 30s with an accent who restrained them with a bed sheet, which prompted investigators to release a sketch in December.

During each attack, the man entered the apartment through an unlocked door or window in the early-morning hours.
