Tomball ISD Seeking Applicants To Fill Vacancy On School Board

Tomball ISD is looking to fill a vacancy on the board of trustees created by the recent resignation of trustee Lisa Nichols.

TOMBALL, TX -- The Tomball Independent School District is looking to fill a vacancy on the board of trustees created by the recent resignation of trustee Lisa Nichols.

Nichols, who served on the board for 13 years, announced her resignation to the board of trustees at the April 11 school board meeting.

At the April 11, regular meeting, the board voted to appoint a person to fill the vacancy.

To be eligible for appointment for the position of Trustee of the Tomball Independent School District, the candidate must be:

  • A United States citizen.
  • Eighteen (18) years or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, as applicable.
  • A registered voter in the territory by May 8, 2017.
  • A resident of the district for six (6) months before May 8, 2017.
  • A resident of the state for twelve (12) months before May 8, 2017.

The candidate must retain these qualifications while in office.

The interested person must file an application to have their name placed on the list of candidates to fill the vacancy with the Executive Assistant of the School Board.

Applications may be picked up beginning on Monday, April 24, at the John P. Neubauer Administration Building, 310 S. Cherry Street, Tomball, Texas. The application deadline is 4 p.m., Monday, May 8.
