Tomball Sees Spike In Festival Attendance In 2017
City drew record numbers to festivals in 2017, and would have topped 70,000 if not for Hurricane Harvey.
TOMBALL, TX — The city of Tomball wrapped up the 2017 festival season on Dec. 11 with the annualc Tomball German Christmas Market and Christmas on Commerce, and by all accounts, it was the best year for tourism on record.
Visits during many of Tomball’s signature festivals and special events in 2017 saw a 20 percent increase over the previous season with attendance topping 69,000 visitors for the first time.
The biggest winners this festival season were the city’s July 4th Celebration and Street Festival presented by Allied Siding and Windows with 24,600 guests, and the annual Beetles, Brew & Barbecue with 9,151 attending.

According to the City’s Department of Marketing and Tourism, attendance numbers would have easily topped 70,000 had Hurricane Harvey not caused the cancellation of the annual Tomball Texas Music Festival on Aug. 26.

The City of Tomball’s marketing and festival program was created in the spring of 2011 and continues to operate through local hotel tax funds.
