Two Remaining Suspects From Woodlands Jewelry Store Hold-Up Arrested

Investigators detained two after the crash on I-45, two others caught hours later.

SPRING, TX -- Four men are in custody after they robbed a jewelry store and led Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high speed chase from The Woodlands to Spring, before crashing their truck into a tree.

The robbery was reported about 1:30 p.m. Thursday at a Zales jewelry store in the Portofino Shopping Center on Interstate 45 in Shenandoah, south of The Woodlands.

Deputies said the four men fled in a dark sedan and led deputies on a pursuit that ended at about 2 p.m. near I-45 South and Rayford Road.

Police received a 911 call from a witness who saw three men wearing masks go into the Zales store in the 19700 b lock of I-45, while a fourth waited outside in the car.

A Montgomery County sheriff's deputy and a Shenandoah police officer chased the vehicle on I-45 and attempted to stop it.

During the pursuit, the robbers hit another vehicle on I-45 but kept going.

The driver of the other car was slightly injured and was treated at the scene.

The robbery suspects continued onto I-45 through a grassy median of the frontage road, and hit a tree and I-45 and Rayford Road.

Investigators have not said how much the robbers took from the store, or if they were injured in the crash.

However, two of the robbers reportedly fled on foot and were caught hours later.

The case is under investigation.
