Good morning and hello Tuesday! Here's a recap of happening in U.S. Virgin Islands today. Read fast, read slow. I'll be over before you know.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny, breezy and nice. High: 87 Low: 80.

Here are the top stories today in US Virgin Islands:

  1. Authorities believe they've found the body of Miya Marcano in Florida. Marcano was a 19-year-old woman from Florida who had close ties to the USVI. (St. Thomas Source)
  2. All Facebook applications, including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, were out for multiple hours on Monday, affecting billions of users across the world. The apps are back and running, but the company isn't divulging what caused the outage. (US Virgin Islands Patch)
  3. VIPD is investigating a double homicide they say happened Sunday night in the shopping center near Rainbow. Police found one man dead on the scene and a second man was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injufried. (US Virgin Islands Patch)
  4. A crewless surface vehicle sailed straight through Hurricane Sam, capturing some incredible footage of the storm's fury. The vessel launched from St. Thomas earlier this summer. So let's root for the hometown hero. (US Virgin Islands Patch)
  5. Now it may not count as hard-hitting news, but the News of St. John did a deep-dive on the history of The Daiquiri and we can't recommend it enough. It's a lovely read and they even included a recipe, so you can batch one up at home. Cheers to that! (News of St. John)
