🌱Details On Return To In-Person Learning + $220 Million To USVI

It's back to in-person school on January 10, 2022, Senator Gittens is released from the hospital, and the USVI stands to receive $220 million for infrastructure projects. All that and more in today's issue.

Here are the top stories in US Virgin Islands today:

  • The V.I. Dept. of Education announced detailed of the Jan 10, 2022 reopening plans on Monday. All elementary school students will return to five-day, in-person learning. Junior high and high school students will have a hybrid approach that includes a mix of in-person instruction and virtual learning. (V.I. Consortium)
  • The U.S. Virgin Islands Charter Yacht Show started on Sunday and will run through Wednesday. Fifty yachts are on exhibit, ranging from 77-foot sailing catamarans to 120-foot motor yachts. While it's fun to poke around on beautiful boats, the event is geared towards brokers who can meet the boat crews and inspect the boats on which they will book clients. (Virgin Islands Daily News)
  • $220 million of President Biden's $1 trillion infrastructure bill will support infrastructure work in the USVI. Delegate Stacey Plaskett outlined how that money will be spent on various initiatives. (V.I. Consortium)
