🌱 Drag Racing Gets Land Donation, STT Bank Robber + The Forecast

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening in the USVI.

Good morning. It's all good news for drag racing fans (and drivers), but bad news for bank robbers. And as for news that is in no way newsworthy, did you hear about the Frenchtown Post Office?

  1. With a new 2.5-acre land donation, the Caribbean Drag Racing Association is one step closer to race day. Government House announced that the St. Croix Renaissance Group donated the property, located next to the 16-acre parcel currently leased to the Caribbean Drag Racing Association, to the government of the Virgin Islands. With the additional space, the Drag Racing group can extend its operations. (St. Croix Source)
  2. Weather forecast for the week ahead. (US Virgin Islands Patch)
  3. DPNR release the latest results of the Beach Water Quality Monitoring Program. Three beaches (tested Dec. 6- Dec. 10) did not meet the water quality standards due to high bacteria: Water Bay in St. Thomas, Shoy's in St. Croix and Great Cruz Bay in St. John. (DPNR)
  4. VIPD say they arrested Errol Jackson on Friday and charged him with first degree robbery. Jackson is accused of taking money from a teller at FirstBank Plaza on St. Thomas using a demand note. (St. Thomas Source)
