🌱 Gov Bryan Eases COVID Restrictions Starting Friday

Here are today's headlines:

  • Governor Bryan is easing COVID-19 limitations on Virgin Islanders as the number of active cases in the territory has fallen to 83. Effective Friday, Oct. 29 at 5:00 p.m., the following restrictions will end:
    • the 11:00 p.m. moratorium on the sale of alcohol will end.
    • bars/nightclubs and restaurants may remain open until the closure time indicated on their license (removing the 12 o'clock and 11 o'clock curfews)
    • restrictions on dancing within establishments, though people must wear masks and try to social distance as much as possible
    • the limit to 250 as the number of people who can attend an event, be it entertainment, church or otherwise. (VI Consortium)
  • Police arrested Roldeson Lazard, age 21, and charged him with first-degree rape, kidnapping/false imprisonment, unlawful sexual contact, simple assault and battery, and disturbance of the peace. The charges stem from a date rape that occurred Oct. 16 at the Rudy Krigger Ballpark in Sion Farm, say the VIPD. (St. John Source)
