  • The VI Department Of Education released class schedules for January-May 2022 (Patch USVI)
  • Gov. Bryan hosted a Town Hall to discuss a new boat ramp for Hull Bay, and the response wasn't warm. Northside residents pushed back on the timeline for construction, the possible effect on water flow, and brought up concerns about parking at Hull Bay Beach. Read more via The Source.
  • Senators approved a bill that re-examines bilingual education in USVI public schools. “This bill that’s before us today is a significant piece of legislation that does require some additional work,” said Senate Pres. Donna Frett-Gregory. “I voted yes to move the measure forward because it’s a good measure. However, discussion is required.” Via The Source.
  • Police Blotter:
    • Police say the man arrested last week for allegedly beating and attempting to burn a man to death was previously convicted in a 2018 migrant smuggling case. Shawn Callwood, of St. Thomas, beat, slashed, and burned a man all over his body in a Bordeaux house, according to the VIPD. Read the full story via The Source.
    • Oluwole Flores Jr. was arrested for hitting and killing randall Marshall on Monday night in St. Croix. Police say Flores was driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle with an expired license when he struck Randall Marshall, via the VI Consortium.
    • Kevin Krigger, who once rode as a jockey in the Kentucky Derby, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning and charged with possession of an unlicensed handgun, say police. Full story via The Source.
