Here are the top stories today in US Virgin Islands:
- Police suspect two separate crime scenes on St. Thomas might be related. In one incident, a man was found walking around Bordeaux with severe burns on his body. A separate incident on the same night left one man dead from gunshot wounds. Police Commissioner Ray Martinez said that there are enough similarities between the victims to suggest the events are related. (St. John Source)
- We invited Philadelphia to come on vacation with us. No, really. Reps from the Department of Tourism spent this past weekend at Jay-Z's "Made in America" music festival in Philadelphia. The Department actually sponsored the event and invited attendees to "Reconnect with Paradise." (Virgin Islands Daily News)
- If you haven't read Wayne Bryan's heartfelt plea to get vaccinated, it's worth it. Bryan's sister, Stacey Bryan, died from COVID-19 on September 9. Stacey was born and raised in St. Thomas and she was the mother of two little girls. She was fully vaccinated, but her family says she still got the virus because those around her were not.
