ST. THOMAS, USVI — The Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating a violent clash that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 25 at the trash dump site in Estate Nazareth.

The incident left one woman with a gunshot wound in her right foot and another male victim with minor stab wounds, say police. The woman was treated at Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center.

Both victims were reluctant to speak to police, said V.I. Police spokesman Toby Derima. However, officers did find evidence of the shooting incident at the dumpsite. They also confirmed that the male victim was stabbed in the same incident.
