Top Stories:
- COVID-19 update: 1251 active cases reported and a 7-day positivity average of 17.73% (VI Department of Health)
- New quarantine requirements (VI Dept. of Health):
- If you test positive for COVID-19 and are asymptomatic (aka not presenting symptoms), you must quarantine for 5 days. If symptoms develop during the 5 days, your quarantine will be extended to 10 days.
- If you test positive and do have COVID-19 symptoms, you are required to quarantine for the entire 10-day period.
- Want to get tested for COVID-19? Prepare to wait and, potentially, walk-away untested. As cases surge across the territory, residents are facing long lines at most testing centers. In some cases, folks have been turned away when the centers run out of tests. Find out what happened to a Virgin Islands Daily News correspondent.
- Bail was set at $1 million for Francis Javaughn, the 19-year-old suspect in Tuesday's shooting on St. Croix. Javaughn, of the Ruby Rouse housing community, has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting two men in the Red Brick area on Tuesday. Jose M. Rivera died at the scene and a second male victim is in critical condition at the Juan F. Luis Hospital. The V.I. Consortium has the full story.
