🌱 Video Of Havensight Robbery + A New Limetree Refinery Bidder

The latest headlines, events, and social chatter from the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Good morning folks. There's a better offer on the table for the Limetree Bay refinery, but it may not matter. And some good news: the victims of the Havensight armed robbery are no longer in critical condition. Those stories and more are in today's edition.

Here are the top stories today in US Virgin Islands:

  • The Virgin Islands Police Department shared security camera footage of the armed robbery at Havensight on Saturday. Police are asking for community assistance to identify the suspect's vehicle. Watch the video here.
  • Meanwhile, the Daily News reports that the two people who were shot during the armed robbery at Havensight Mall on Saturday are in stable condition. One of the victims was a security guard at Glitter’s Fine Jewelry, the store targeted during the attack. The other victim is a local resident who was in the store shopping.
  • The bankrupt owners of Limetree Bay say they have received a better offer on the defunct refinery and are petitioning the bankruptcy court to reopen auction proceedings. The odds are against them. The auction ended on November 18 with St. Croix Energy as the new owners of the facility. They pledged $20 million cash. Now, Limetree Bay says that West Indies Petroleum, a Jamaican-based oil storage company, has offered them $30 million in cash. The Consortium has the full story.
