🌱 VIPD Announce Arrests In Havensight Shooting Incident

- A mid-morning robbery attempt at Havensight Mall on St. Thomas on Saturday sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries. According to the VIPD, three male suspects pulled into the Havensight Mall in a dark-colored vehicle around 10 a.m. and entered Glitters, a jewelry store. They were armed with an assault rifle and handguns. While attempting to rob the store, the suspects opened fire on a security officer and shot the officer as well as a female customer. Both victims are in critical condition and are being treated at Schneider Regional Medical Center. (The Source)
- On Saturday evening, Police Commissioner Ray Martinez announced that VIPD officers intercepted a vehicle and arrested two men who are listed as persons of interest in the Havensigh incident, as well as several other violent crime incidents. (VIPD)
- Per new CDC guidelines, starting Dec. 6, all air passengers flying internationally must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one day before travel to the U.S. This requirement applies to all travelers, regardless of vaccination status. (CDC)
