VIPD: Martinez Announces New Director of Internal Affairs

Vivianne Newton, previously the Deputy Chief for St. John has been named the new VIPD Director for Internal Affairs.

ST. THOMAS, USVI — Vivianne P. Newton has been appointed as the new Director of Internal Affairs and Applicant Screening Bureau for the Virgin Islands Police Department. In this role, effective July 21, 2021, she will be responsible for running the department's day-to-day operations throughout the territory. Newton previously served as Deputy Chief for the island of St. John.

The announcement came from Police Commissioner Nominee Ray A. Martinez.

According to the VIPD, Newtown will be replaced by Lieutenant Clayton Brown. Brown is a resident of St. John and has been a member of the Virgin Islands Police Department since 1994
