π± WMA Blasted For Incompetence + Weekend Events Calendar
The quickest way to get caught up on news, events and everything else happening in the USVI.
Good morning. Here is everything you need to know to get this Friday (and maybe the weekend) started off right.
- Last September, the VIPD found a decomposing body buried in a shallow grave in Smith Bay. A neighbor had called in a complaint about a foul odor. Now, police say they have identified both the victim and the suspect who they say killed him. Read more in the VI Consortium.
- The V.I. Waste Management Authority is the latest government entity to be in hot water for bad business practices. An audit by the V.I. Office of the Inspector General has found that the leaders of WMA were incompetent on a number of fronts. The VI Consortium conveniently lists them all, and it is well worth reading.
- The COVID-19 death toll hits 105 after the death of a St. Croix man, via The Source.
- Katie Tannenbaum was released from quarantine on Tuesday night, just in time to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics. Did you catch her skeleton performance? Via the Virgin Islands Daily News.
